He began his professional career as an educator-becologist at the Santiago Apóstol Special Education Center in A Coruña (1991–95), before joining SERGAS as a dental hygienist in 1994. He has been part of the SERGAS opposition courts. He speaks Galician and Spanish. In his free time he enjoys fishing and mushroom picking.
